About the Koreans? Yeah, I remember when that happened. They were going to help rebuild Afghanistan. There was a standoff between the terrorists and the South Korean government, who didn't want to set a precedent of negotiating with terrorists. The terrorists gave them an ultimatum, and when they didn't meet it, they executed one of the men in the group. Later they executed another. At one point they released a bunch of the women in the group after a plea from the government. Some people say the Korean government bent to the will of their people, who were holding rallies in Seoul begging the government to rescue the hostages, and paid off the ransom. South Koreans were already forbidden to travel to Afghanistan, but this church group went anyway. The Afghanis told them that they would not have evangelizing in their country. It was awful.

You should see the newest Rambo movie. It's so intense. It sort of deals with this kind of thing only in Burma. It was REALLY good. But violent.

yea.. i did. was on the news all the time, at least in Singapore.

Absolutely terrible. But foolhardy of the Koreans to head to Afghanistan and preach Christianity when Afganistan is obviously so turbulent.

most of them were released months back after a really long negotiation on the Korean front. if i'm not wrg, Korea either offended UN or US for negotiating directly with the Afghanistans...haiz. needless waste of lives

Had no idea.
I hear generalizations about that kind of thing happening all the time.

Not to offend anyone, but Islam is full of a lot of hate. It's like the complete opposite of Christianity.

It's terrible that an entire country would set itself against God like that.

Islam itself is v peace loving. its the radicals who have distorted the teachings to suit their war mongering ways. radicals succeed because muslims in general are so devout that they are led to believe the wrong interpretations of the radicals.

there's actually points of similarity between the muslim koran and christian bible. midday, no offense but you DO realise that you are generalizing?

sorry dilated, to make your entry into a dicussion of religion, but i feel wronged for my muslim friends. (i'm buddhist, so i'm neutral)
